Air Fryer Bacon - You can have perfectly crispy bacon in just 10 minutes!
There are many ways to cook really delicious bacon. My favorite way is to bake it. But knowing other ways to cook it can be helpful!
For example, the deep fryer is great for when you just need a few strips of crispy bacon - my deep fryer fits four strips.
Bacon is wonderfully crispy in about 10 minutes, and cleanup is easier than washing a skillet or griddle.

The most important step in this recipe happens before you even open the bag of bacon.
Frying bacon is very easy, but it can also be dangerous if you skip a simple but important step.
As the bacon cooks, it will produce a lot of fat. Without a plug in the bottom of the basket, that fat will vaporize once it hits the hot bottom of the fryer.
That would make a lot of smoke.
The solution? Add about 1 cup of water to the bottom of the fryer basket. This water will trap the fat and prevent smoke.
How long to fry bacon
Time is direct. Cook the bacon for 5 minutes with the deep fryer at 350หF, then flip the bacon strips and cook for another 5 minutes, until perfectly crisp. Is that!
Make tasty bacon
For a special touch, sprinkle some brown sugar and a dash of sriracha on each strip right after flipping. The sugar will caramelize as it cooks. Is incredible!
THAT IS IMPORTANT! Add 1 cup of water to the bottom of the fryer basket before cooking the bacon. This will prevent the fat from the bacon from creating smoke.
As long as they don't overlap in the fryer basket, you should be able to cook more than 4 strips of bacon at a time.
Ingredients
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 1 cup of water
- 4 strips of sliced classic bacon
- 2 teaspoons light brown sugar, for coating (optional)
- Sriracha, for topping (optional)
Method
Prepare the fryer:
Lightly spray the inside of the fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray.
Add 1 cup of water to the bottom of the fryer basket. This will prevent the bacon grease from smoking.
Air Fry Bacon:
Arrange the bacon in the basket, trying not to overlap them. A slight overlap is fine. Fry the bacon for 5 minutes at 350หF.
Although it is not required, you can preheat your air fryer by following the instruction manual.
Flip the bacon:
Remove the basket from the fryer and carefully turn the bacon over, placing it back so that it does not overlap.
At this point you can sprinkle brown sugar on top and drizzle some Sriracha on top if you like. Fry again for 5 minutes at 350ยฐF.
Drain and serve:
Transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels and allow to drain for a minute or two.
It's a little hard for me to imagine you'll have leftover bacon, it's only 4 strips.
Just eat! If you have a strip or two of bacon leftover, refrigerate for up to 3 days.
